I am going to share with you a cute and fun twist I did to my child’s Valentine’s Day card. She is 3.5 and this is her first year in school. I am going to be honest, I did not come up with this idea. I first saw it on a photography forum I belong too. I wasn’t yet a mother when I first saw it, but knew when I was I knew it was going to do this. I did put my own twist to the idea.  You can click here to see the inspiration post for the idea.

I really did not need a lot to make them. All I used was scissors, hole puncher, ribbon, small cards with my daughters picture, and Annie’s Fruit Snacks.Annie’s Fruit Snacks are a big hit in our house, so it was a no brainer what to use for the treat. It could work with just about any snack though. I had my daughter part of the process the whole way and she loved helping to make them. It was a fun activity for both of us!

I created my cards in Photoshop and printed them through a pro lab. But you could order the bag tags from Mpix, one of the only places I recommend my clients get their pictures printed. The saying was the hardest part. Having finished them and printed, I wish I had written “you are my friend” instead of “in my class.”  We want to give them out to a few girls in the neighborhood as well, so friend would have worked a little bit better. Next year!

I do love how them came out and look forward to making them again next year.  I hope she knows how to write her name by then and can sign her own name to the cards.
