I did a model call last year in the spring and another client recommended this mommy-to-be to contact me about having a maternity session. It was her and her husband’s first baby and they were excited to meet their new little girl soon. We were cutting it close because the session was a week before her due date. Normally Maternity sessions are held during 32-38 weeks of pregnancy. I loved the location they selected. They recommended Forbidden Drive in Philadelphia. I have never photographed on Forbidden Dr and was excited and nervous at the same time. I was nervous because I knew it was a popular location and was not sure what the crowd would be.
The session was held on a bright sunny Sunday morning in early August, so as you can imagine it was a bit hot. We kept the session quick though to about thirty minutes so mom did not get too hot and we stayed in the shade. Thirty minutes is about all you need for a maternity session. It dives enough time to get a nice variety. Thankfully we had plenty of shady spots to choose from. I kept checking in with mom to make sure she was OK too. She was a trouper and kept reassuring me she was OK.
This location has so much to offer. So much that we did not even tip the surface of it. I am definitely going back to check out the area. I hear there is a covered bridge there that I am dying to see it. The spots we found were just beautiful and I loved that even though it was a bit crowded. But even with the crowd we were about still able to find some nice locations with no one around.
Below are some of my favorites from the session.
